Connecting Global Innovation with Sustainable Water Solutions
Jakarta, November 2026 — As a pioneering international water and wastewater technology exhibition in Indonesia, Indo Water Expo & Forum is set to return for its 21st edition on 24–26 August 2027 at Nusantara International Convention Exhibition (NICE), PIK 2, Tangerang, Indonesia. The exhibition connects global technology providers with Indonesian industry stakeholders, creating opportunities to showcase innovations, knowledge exchange, and develop cross-sector business partnerships.
Effective wastewater management remains a key priority in protecting Indonesia’s water resources and maintaining water quality. In August 2026, the Environmental Control Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BPLH) took enforcement action against a factory in Mojokerto, East Java, by sealing its wastewater discharge outlet to the Porong River following laboratory findings that several water quality parameters exceeded permitted standards. The findings included elevated levels of Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), total coliform bacteria, and oil and grease. The action underscores the importance of effective wastewater treatment, regular water quality monitoring, and appropriate discharge management in protecting water resources and supporting environmental compliance across industrial operations.

Following the direction of the Minister of Environment, in a separate action, the Deputy for Environmental Law Enforcement (GAKKUM LH) took firm action by halting illegal wastewater discharges at four business locations along the Cileungsi River basin. The action followed findings of wastewater management violations, including the discharge of wastewater directly into the river without proper treatment. As the river serves as an important water source for surrounding communities, the enforcement effort highlights the importance of responsible wastewater management, effective treatment systems, and regular water quality monitoring to protect water resources. These developments highlight opportunities for technology providers offering wastewater treatment systems, water quality monitoring solutions, and pollution control technologies to address the needs of Indonesia’s industrial and environmental sectors.

Against this backdrop, the Indo Water team is visiting an international water supply, sanitation, water resources, and purification event in Vietnam from 04–06 November 2026 to engage with industry stakeholders and expand its international network. Indo Water aims to explore potential partnerships, exchange industry insights, and introduce opportunities to participate in the upcoming edition.
The strong industry response to Indo Water 2026 Expo & Forum, held in August, reflects continued interest and participation from the water and wastewater sector. The exhibition brought together 700 companies from 23 countries, with 20,000 square-metres exhibition area fully occupied, and welcomed 17,925 professional visitors over three days. This growing interest and demand have encouraged Indo Water to move to a new exhibition venue for its 2027 edition, providing more room to accommodate industry participation and support further growth.
Taking place on 24–26 August 2027 at Nusantara International Convention Exhibition (NICE), PIK 2, Tangerang, Indonesia, Indo Water 2027 will continue to offer international companies opportunities to showcase their technologies, connect with potential business partners, and engage with stakeholders across Indonesia and Asia’s water and wastewater industry. Incorporating with Indo Waste & Recycling, Indo Renergy & Electric, Indo Security, Indo Firex, Rescue & Disaster, and Indonesia International Smart City 2027 Expo & Forum, the exhibition aims to welcome more than 700 exhibitors from 30 countries and attract 18,000 professional visitors.
