Chennai Unveils `14,000-crore Water Storage Expansion Plan

In a major move to strengthen the city’s water security, the Water Resources Department (WRD) has announced a 14,000-crore plan to restore lakes and tanks, construct new reservoirs, and expand recharge structures across Chennai. The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) is set to strengthen the city’s sewage management infrastructure by constructing three new sewage treatment plants (STPs) at Appughar, Sagar Nagar, and Bheemili.
