Urban water systems across India are under increasing strain due to rapid urbanisation, climate variability and aging infrastructure. Stormwater networks, sewer systems and flood management strategies are often addressed independently, despite being operationally and structurally interconnected. This session will examine how integrated planning approaches can strengthen resilience across these systems and reduce long-term urban risk.

The discussion will explore key challenges facing utilities and city planners, including cross-agency coordination, infrastructure capacity constraints and the growing impact of extreme weather events. Participants will gain insight into moving from reactive flood response to proactive resilience planning, with considerations for stormwater modelling, sewer network performance and sustainable flood mitigation strategies.

Designed for professionals across utilities, consulting, engineering and public sector planning, this session provides a strategic foundation for understanding how India can build more resilient and coordinated water infrastructure systems.

All attendees will receive a CPD certificate in recognition of their professional development.
