Meet effluent treatment norms by April 30 or face action, firms told in Chandigarh

Chandigarh Smart City Limited (CSCL) has finally written to companies doing the upgradation the sewage treatment plant (STP), directing them to meet all norms of liquid effluent treatment at any cost by April 30 or be ready to face major action. Chandigarh – New Integrated Solid Waste Management Plant to be constructed by 2025

A high-powered committee of the UT administration led by UT adviser Dharam Pal announced the integrated solid waste processing plant would be constructed in two years and be operational for 25years, directing stricter penalties be imposed for non-fulfilment of environmental and emission norms and accepting the recommendations of the CSIR-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI).
