Landfill at Bhalswa to get cleared by March 2024

Delhi government is targeting the removal of 50 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of garbage from Bhalswa landfill by March next year, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Thursday. Officials informed the CM that against an initial target to remove 6,500 MT of waste per day, 12,000 MT would be cleared daily. NEW DELHI: To revive lakes in the city with quality treated water, Delhi government is adopting a new technology that does aeration and bacteria treatment of the sewage to augment efficiency of the sewage treatment plants (STPs).Officials said they aimed at treating over 500MGD sewage, and over 150MGD treated water would be infused into the lakes, including 25 acres of Sanjay Lake. Delhi govt plans to boost capital’s water supply through RO plants

The Delhi government plans on augmenting water supply by setting up Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification plants in areas where groundwater is not usable, at localities that depend on water tankers, and jhuggis.In the first phase of the project, five RO plants with a total capacity of 363 million liters per day (MLD) will be set up in a year.
