A new desalination plant is in progress and will be set up by April 2023 at Nemmeli. The second desalination plant will provide a drinking water supply to around nine lakh residents of Chennai. The four sewage treatment plants (STPs) at Beur, Karmalichak, Saidpur and Pahadi in Patna will be made functional by the end of the 2021-2022 financial year.
